If initially two men are holding the rod, & suddenly one man leaves it, won't the other feel that the rod become heavier?
So, logically the weight should be more than W/2 when only one man is holding, isn't it? Please explain.
See it's not saying in the question that when the other man leaves the rod the 1st man is still holding the rod in straight horizontal position.
The rod will start to fall and will eventually fall.
We have to find the force at the instant just when it is starting to fall which would be when the other man will leave the rod.
