Straight line

  • In straight lines if we want to find the equation of a line then we have various forms but I have doubt in normal form x Cos ø + y Sin ø = p
Here I know p is the perpendicular distance and
ø is the angle made by positive the x-axis but my doubt is that what if a line is passing through origin we can't draw the perpendicular then what will be the value of p in equation x Cos ø + y Sin ø = p. Will p be 0? Or this equation is not valid when line passes through origin clear doubt anyone

  • @Bhanu it is still valid ... P will be 0
